Orange County Council provides free web hosting for its units through a public hosting service. The contents of these web sites shall meet the policies stated herein. It is the responsibility of the individual webmaster and charter partner to adhere to the policies. Orange Council and/or National BSA assume no responsibility for the contents of these sites.
Websites not hosted on the council server is the responsibility of the individual webmaster and charter partner. A unit that is chartered with the Orange Council, Boy Scouts of America will adhere to specific policies as established by the council webmaster and council administrators. Such polices include posting a link to this disclaimer, providing a link to either the council's Youth Protection notice or to the national protection notice, webmaster email link and charter organization information/link.
Starting in 2014, all units that are chartered under the Orange County Council and use websites, hosted or not with the council, are being asked (2015 this will be mandated) to add a link to National BSA "Cyber Chip" documents. These requirements are not limited to the above fore mention and is subject to change.
Advancement information for all of the BSA programs is official only if it comes from National BSA or one of its local councils.
Any other source of information is un-official and should not be used.
In addition to the above, all links on sites that lead to locations outside of domains not owned by this council are not under our control and therefore, neither Orange County Council, National BSA, nor the volunteers that serve in our council are responsible for the content of such links.
