Email Tip
I'm sure that you've received at least one Email that was addressed to not only you but dozens of others as well. As you'll probably recall your Email address and the Email address of everyone who received the Email was in the "To:" field.
If the number of individuals who received the Email was a large list then you most likely saw a lot of wasted space at the top of your message. This is only the least of the irritations.
The major issue with this approach to doing Email is that your Email address is distributed to individuals to whom you may not wish it given to. Sooner or later you start getting junk mail and then wonder how your Email address got out. Or perhaps you start getting Email from someone you never heard of who's now distributing his daily renderings to all the people on the list of which you were a part of.
Do others and yourself a BIG favor and when you send out Emails to a group of individuals use the "Bcc:" field (blind-carbon-copy). Put your own Email address into the "To:" field and everyone else into the "Bcc:" field. This protects your Email address and everyone elses as well. Everyone who receives your Email gets a personal copy and they never see the Email addresses of everyone else.
There are times, especially during a business transaction or other times, when it's necessary to use the "To:" field for all Email addresses, but use it with discretion. Learn to protect yourself and others by not giving out Email addresses you receive to anyone else without permission.
Use the "Bcc:" field for all Emails that are sent to multiple individuals.
