Web Site Requirements
Submitted by Admin on Thu, 02/07/2008 - 11:10pm
Webmasters who are granted space under the OCBSA.ORG domain are required to maintain the following minimum requirements on their web sites. These conditions must be met within 2 weeks of being notified that the site is available to receive content and they must be maintained. See Violation of Policy.
1) A Calendar or Events page must be maintained with up-to-date information and contact information for prospective new members.
2) A banner or heading that identifies the unit.
3) The Disclaimer hyperlink at the bottom of all pages of the site.
4) Contact information so a visitor knows whom to contact to gain additional information on the unit.
5) The city that the unit serves or is located within. Meeting times and a location are optional but helpful.
6) No portion of the web site may be hosted elsewhere except the Google Calendar and Google Picasa Photo Albums.
7) Sites must meet all Council Web Site Policies.
Disclaimer Information
Web sites hosted by this Council must have a link to a disclaimer statement at the bottom of each page of their site. The disclaimer statement must consist of the word "Disclaimer" with a hyperlink to http://webmasters.ocbsa.org/?q=node/74 .
The disclaimer must be Text-Based and not a graphic. The word "Disclaimer" must be posted as text at the bottom of each page of the web site and a hyperlink created as noted in the statement above. Any deviation from this is not acceptable.
The link must go directly to the disclaimer address as specified and not through a redirection. Web Sites not hosted by us, which we have provided a link to, are not required to post the disclaimer. The inclusion of the disclaimer statement does not remove the need to meet these policies.
