Off-Site Photo Album Links

Effective immediately units may embed a Picasa Photo Album to provide additional storage space for photos only. The Disclaimer link must be posted on the page with the link to the photo album and the webmaster must be the owner of the Picasa Photo Album. Posted July 7, 2008

Web Site Policy Adherance

The policies for web site publication under Internet Domains owned by Orange County Council are considered as important as are the policies of scouting. They  serve to protect the program, individuals and the BSA in general. Web sites that do not maintain their sites in accordance with these policies will have the DNS pulled and the site taken off-line. Access to the site will still be available through FTP so the site may be corrected. Once the problem is corrected, a web site request form will be required to have the site brought back on-line. Periodic scans are made of all sites on the server and web sites that have policy violations will be disabled and the webmaster notified via Email. Webmasters who fail to repair the sites within two weeks of notification will have their sites removed from the server.  Posted 7/22/08

Official Advancement Sites

Please note that the only "official" source for Advancement, Belt Loops, etc, is either the Council or National BSA web sites. District sites, unit sites and other Internet web site, such as USScouts, and many others are NOT official representatives of the BSA and therefore we cannot link to them for advancement information. Although they do provide valuable information and can be helpful they are NOT official. Webmasters are reminded of the link policy regarding this and asked that if you currently link to USScouts or other sites that contain advancement information that you remove the link immediately.
